FJX Vehicle-Keys is a complete vehicle lock & key system for FiveM servers — realistic lock/unlock animations, a clean key-fob UI, positional lock sound, ownership & job-based access, and deep integration with FJX Job-Garage. Lightweight, framework-agnostic, and ready to drop in. YouTube-Preview: https://youtu.be/ThUKByNlrgE
Lock and unlock any vehicle with clean visual feedback: indicator flashes and parking lights
Character key-fob gesture — the player physically points the remote at the car (on foot only)
Distinct lock and unlock sounds
Optional horn on lock (off by default, one config line to enable)
Auto-closes an open trunk when the vehicle is locked
Other players nearby hear the lock/unlock sound — not just the owner
Distance-based falloff with a configurable audible radius
Plays instantly locally, then syncs to everyone in range (no server-roundtrip delay)
Only the vehicle owner can lock/unlock — server-side ownership check against the database
Job vehicles: gated purely by the player's job — instant, no database lookup
Locked-door modes: standard lock, or lock + cannot be broken into
Server-side validation with rate limiting to prevent abuse
Custom image-based key-fob interface (fully replaceable image)
Freely reposition the fob and buttons from the config (CSS units)
Hold-to-open, clean and minimal
Works hand-in-hand with FJX Job-Garage: job vehicles spawned from the garage are automatically key-locked
Only authorised players of that job can access the vehicle
Runs perfectly standalone too — the garage is optional, not required
Frameworks: ESX Legacy & QB-Core — automatic detection
ox_lib is optional: if it's installed, notifications route through it (looks like you're used to); if not, native fallbacks kick in — the resource still starts and runs fully
Callbacks run on an independent, ox_lib-free system — no version conflicts, no hard dependency
Only oxmysql is required (for the ownership system)
Performance Minimal resource usage · Instant local feedback with synced sound · Server-authoritative ownership & job checks
Anti-Abuse Server-side validation · Rate-limited ownership callbacks · No client-trusted access decisions
Config-First Sounds, audible radius, animation on/off, lock mode, trunk-on-lock, key-fob position — all from config.lua
config.lua: Framework & detection · Lock/unlock feedback (indicators, horn) · Key-fob gesture (on/off, timing) · Sound volume & distance · Key-fob UI position · Locked-door mode · Auto-close trunk · Notification position
For Server-Owners Plug & play — works on ESX and QB-Core with no changes. ox_lib optional, so it fits any stack. No FPS drop, performance-optimised.
For Players Locking your car actually feels like locking your car — the gesture, the lights, the sound. Others around you notice it too.
For RP Real ownership matters: only your car opens for you. Job fleets stay locked to the right people.
